Can't download this TikTok? 5 things to check

Some TikToks will never download - not because of a tool problem, but because of how the video was uploaded or restricted. This checklist covers the five common blockers in order. If you make it past all five, the issue is our side and worth reporting.

Common causes

Private accounts block all external sharing. The URL might look normal but the video metadata is gated. There is no legitimate workaround - the uploader has to make the video public or send you the file directly.

TikTok restricts some content by country. If ttok.com returns an error but opening the link from a VPN in the uploader's country works, it's a geo-block. We route through multiple regions but some content stays restricted.

Live replays are handled as separate URLs (/live/ in the path). They're larger, often hours long, and our pipeline doesn't support them yet. Use a screen recorder while the replay is playing if you need a copy.

TikTok Series content requires purchase. Even if you bought it inside the app, the public URL will not serve the paid version to external tools. This is intentional DRM.

If the audio was flagged by rightsholders after upload, the video is still visible inside TikTok but its CDN URL returns an error. There's nothing to extract because the file has been pulled.
